Important Main Stay Update 3/24/2020

closure letter

Dear Friends,

We hope that you and your families are safe and healthy during this time of uncertainty. We wanted to provide you with an update of what's happening at Main Stay.

In keeping with the CDC and State recommendations, and the latest shelter in place mandate, Main Stay has ceased programming. Our barn staff continues to care for our animals to keep them healthy and happy. We have asked the rest of our staff to work remotely to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus. Like everyone else, we are unsure how long this will last and will need to evaluate the situation on a day-to-day basis once the shelter in place has been lifted.

The good news is that we are taking this time to update curriculums and develop new programs in order to better serve our community.

We know you probably just received your invitation, but like so many other nonprofit organizations, Main Stay's annual gala, scheduled for May 1, 2020 has been cancelled. Main Stay has decided to not reschedule the event nor to replace it with a "virtual" event at this time. While we still have inherent expenses to fund (animal feed/bedding, vet care, staff, utilities, etc.) it doesn't feel right to ask people to participate in a fundraising event at a time when so many individuals and businesses are struggling. However, if you would still like to support Main Stay, we would greatly appreciate your help. You can make a donation at

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given Main Stay and to encourage you to support our local businesses as much as you can.

While there is so much uncertainty in the world, the one thing we do know is that we're better together. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or would just like to check in.

You can also follow us on Facebook for regular updates.

Be well,
-Your Main Stay Family
