Main Stay Earns National Distinction from Charity Navigator

I have some very, very exciting news to share with you about Main Stay. We are honored to share we have earned the following national Top Distinctions for charities:

• Charity Navigator’s 100.00 Perfect Score List
• Charity Navigator’s 4-Star Rating List
• Charity Navigator’s Top Ten Charities Worth Watching

Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest and most utilized evaluator of charities for financial health and wellness. Charity Navigator’s advisors review the charity’s audited financial statements and IRS form 990 using over 27 metrics to evaluate them on a scale of one to four stars. The ratings are based on two main benchmarks:

1. Financial health which includes efficiency (how much is spent on program vs. fundraising and administrative expenses) and capacity (program expense growth, working capital ratio, and liabilities-to-assets ratio).

2. Accountability & Transparency (which is the willingness to explain actions to stakeholders and the willingness to publish data about the organization).

Main Stay has held Charity Navigator’s coveted 4-Star Rating for the past several years, which is the highest rating and means that we exceed industry standards and outperform most charities in our area of cause. On a scale of 100, charities must score 90 or above to achieve the 4-Star Rating.

Main Stay has also recently earned the top distinction of Charity Navigator’s Perfect 100.00 Score. Kevin Doyle, Senior Program Analyst at Charity Navigator said, “this places Main Stay Therapeutic Farm on a very exclusive list of charities able to achieve this. In addition, Charity Navigator has placed Main Stay on their list of Top 10 Charities Worth Watching. These 10 charities all operate on less than $2 million a year, but they all have earned a 4-Star rating from Charity Navigator and have an overall score higher than 99.
