See Me, For Me: Rebecca

Rebecca

One thing that Rebecca is very proud of is earning the “Distinguished Warrior Award” when she graduated high school because of her exceptional grades and volunteerism. However, her accomplishments in school are just a few of the things that make Rebecca a warrior.

Rebecca first came to Main Stay as rider in the adaptive riding program. However, after riding for a few years, balancing on her horse became more difficult which was frustrating for Rebecca. Rather than throwing in the towel, Rebecca decided to try doing other things with her horse that didn’t include riding. Like a true warrior, Rebecca quickly learned how to groom and lead her horse. She developed a strong connection with her horse Harry and gained confidence so that she was able to do more activities independently. Her instructor, Tina Kranz, said, “Rebecca created her own patterns to lead her horse through. She trotted alongside Harry so proudly. We even facilitated some lunging lessons and Rebecca would jog in place in the middle of the circle as her horse trotted around her. Such joy in these moments.” Rebecca now works with Cody, and they have formed a strong partnership.

Rebecca’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance and showcases the true essence of a warrior. “Staying strong” is one of Rebecca’s primary goals at Main Stay, and her warrior-like strength assures us that she will undoubtedly achieve it.
