Main Stay is proud to announce Patty Johnson as the recipient of the 2026 Founders’ Award
Each year, the Founders’ Award recognizes a volunteer whose dedication to Main Stay’s mission shines through in everything they do. This year, we are delighted to honor Patty Johnson.
Since 2013, Patty has given her time and talents wherever they are needed. She grooms, leads and sidewalks; supports equine and animal-assisted learning, team-building programs and special events; and is always willing to step in when someone needs a substitute. Patty has also been instrumental in helping our horses feel their best by providing treatments with a BEMER, which improves circulation and helps with sore muscles. This year, she also helped launch Yoga on Horseback, teaching two five-week sessions.
Patty brings a warm smile, a willingness to keep learning and a calm, steady presence to every role she takes on. As Main Stay instructor Mikki shared:
“Patty brings a calm and steady presence to the arena. The staff, clients, and horses all know that we can rely on her in any situation. In addition to everything Patty already gives to Main Stay over the years, she’s also brought that calm energy with her to teach yoga on horseback! We are very lucky to have her at Main Stay!”
And the horses seem to know it, too! Instructor Brittany shared a sweet moment she witnessed recently: Patty called to King from across his paddock, and he perked up and trotted right over to her.
Patty embodies the caring, teamwork and respect at the heart of Main Stay. We are grateful for all she does for our clients, our horses and her fellow volunteers. Please join us in congratulating Patty!
