Prospective Volunteers

Status message

Submissions for this form are closed.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Main Stay. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our current need for new volunteers is less than normal. Until further notice, we will not be reviewing prospective volunteer paperwork or scheduling group volunteer trainings. Please periodically check the website for a status update on when trainings will resume and/or follow us on Facebook at Thank you for your understanding.

Main Stay is a volunteer based organization. We operate with a small core staff, but without the many wonderful volunteers who choose to make a difference, our program would not exist.

For most areas of the program you will not need a special skill or horse experience. You just need the desire to give your time... we can almost guarantee you will receive more than you give!

Trainings are held periodically based on the needs of the program. Contact the volunteer coordinator at or 815-382-9374 to learn more about available volunteer positions and to discuss attending a new volunteer training.
